South African born, Richard grew up and studied in Israel where he graduated in Orchestral Conducting and Flute from the Rubin Academy of Music, Jerusalem. In 1982 he moved to London where he was music director of the Electric Symphony Orchestra and lecturer in electronic music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.In 1996, he left London and set up home in Devon where he now lives and works as a composer of electroacoustic music and conductor of the TSO. He is also conductor of the Exeter University Symphony Orchestra, a director of www.digital-music-archives.com which promotes and distributes electronic and improvised music, a director of www.thinkingarts.com which designs websites for the arts and a founding member of www.totnesmusicnow.org | |
