Going to Torbay Symphony Orchestra’s Festival of Music was a startling reminder of how engrossing and exciting attending live classical music events can be. The orchestra’s skill, the suspense of the musical journey through the pieces, the range and variety of the instruments, the humour and the emotional qualities conveyed created a really spontaneous and exciting evening. The talk by Richard Gonski beforehand really helped set up the contexts of the contrasting pieces and gave great musical ideas to look for really enriching the experience. I would truly recommend attending a TSO concert, the connections the orchestra made with the audience were great!
